“In the chaos of searching for a wedding venue Ms. Amy Rapaport-Carper was a calm, organized, and decisive. She was exactly what we needed to feel calm and confident. She used all of her knowledge, and the resources at the Fredericksburg Country Club to provide us with a reception catered to our needs. Her ability to be confident in her approach but flexible enough to change a plan completely (as our minds changed) was a core feature of her management style.
When we first toured the country club, she was warm and inviting. She honestly presented options to us, providing a clear understanding of pricing, and what was available without pressuring us to decide on the venue.
Once we selected the country club, her attention to detail made me confident that my guests and myself would be constantly and completely provided for. The planning stage was as much my suggestions as Amy’s poignant questions. At our food tasting with Amy, she provided us finished plates, thoughtfully kept our drinks full, and provided us with commentary while giving us the space to discuss our own preferences. She was even courteous enough to give us to-go bags (yay!). As planning continued she was always keeping in touch and informed but never rushed us. She clearly understood the order of events, timing, and what was needed. For example, while talking about food options, she asked if I wanted kids meals to come to the table to make it easier for their parents (I said yes!). The day before she helped shape our plan for centerpieces, and even ensured table cloths were ironed for me! When we set up she helped me coordinate cake deliveries, flowers, decorations, and a slew of my family helping. Her advice, reminders, tape, and scissors ensured that everything got set up.
When the big day came, Amy made sure that we were set up, and finances were taken care of to allow us to enjoy the day. For example, she asked what drinks we wanted while we were out taking pictures on the golf (me: whiskey) and they were driven out to us on the river by her staff. This is the level of detail she was able to achieve while the buffet was prepared, my guests coats were put away, they were given cocktails and hors d’oevres, and staff managed plates and cups even before the buffet began. A receiving line (Amy’s suggestion) gracefully sent our guests into the ballroom which had been set up beautifully with Amy’s help the day before. During the event, I did not have to touch a thing, or give input because Amy had coordinated with my photographers, music and her own staff. The food and drink service went off without a hitch under Amy’s supervision. Her attention to detail made the event easy and I was able to eat, drink, and dance the day away without a worry! Though busy coordinating music, people, and food, she always made sure that we, the bride and groom, had drinks and food. She was always attentive till the end when we did a sparkler exit (her suggestion). She managed the lighting, and putting out of sparklers with her team, and once we left helped my friends pack up.
Overall, our wedding reception was perfectly executed, and I was able to enjoy it because of Ms. Amy Rapaport-Carper’s planning and management. If you are working with her, in about 5 minutes your will see the calm confidence which defines her management style. She was a pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend her for your next event, especially if it’s as complicated as a wedding.”
